FINALLY.... the day is here when I get my paws on the long awaited much anticipated follow up to Marianas Trench awesome debut cd "Fix Me" and this cd in no way disappoints in fact it builds on their previous work and brings the band to all new heights!

I have always been a massive fan of these Canadian guys, their music is both powerful in lyrics and fun to listen to. One look at my LastFM page and you will see just how big a fan of them I am lol!
Masterpiece Theatre is the record that should break them out of Canada's clutches and put them on the world stage where they belong because the rest of the world needs to hear and love this band, I am after all willing to share them! They take some chances on this cd in the form of experimentation with what worked on their debut but it works brilliantly from the opening song that fits the theme of the cd and sets the mood for the rest of the tracks, to the truly beautiful song "Beside You" which almost has an African feel to it, to the barbershop acappella stylings of the dramatic "Masterpiece Theatre II" to a fantastic duet with Kate Voegele on "Good To You" to the very powerful & emotional song "Lover Dearest" right down to the long 6+ minute but super fun and experimental closing song! They retain their new generation emo and pop punk stylings of their original sound but also layer it with fantastic harmonies, a new found maturity in both their writing and sound and with lots more instruments for a perfect package.
I have to admit that when I first saw the video for "Cross My Heart" on Much Music and even though I liked the song it had a real sugar coated pop feel to it and I was worried that the entire cd would be like that, but it's just an example of their experimentation on this cd and how they really mixed things up! All 12 tracks on this cd are perfect, I may seem a bit biased because of my built in love for this band previous to this CD but trust me I review everything with a fresh clear unbiased mind to give an honest opinion & review as I have done in this case. This cd is a must own for any previous & existing fans of Marianas Trench and will be a must own for many new fans of emo/pop punk bands... this cd is an honest work of musical art!

It seems that every song that they write seem to be meaningful and not only is Josh, Matt, Ian and Mike all attractive (but we all probably agree that Josh is hottest)... they seem like great individuals well from what I've heard from the interviews on you tube. All in all they are AMAZING artists!!! And are defiantly the best band in the world!!!!
OMG this band is the absolute best I've EVER heard. First, because their songs are fantastic and actually have meaning. The lyrics are great and you can actually relate.
Next, they are all great guys and don't act like they are famous, and just goof around in their youtube vids. They are funny and just normal guys at heart.
Also they are hot. Ha ha especially Josh. Blue hair is cool! lol.
The song lover dearest was a love letter that josh wrote when he was in a rehab type place to recover from his heroin addiction. He was to write a love letter to his drug telling why it was so important in his life. then he turned it into a song! This song has much meaning to him, and if you watch a video of him playing it live(on youtube) some show him tearing up.

I have seen this band three times, now when a person goes to see a band it can be a disappointing thing because the band memembers are not what you expect, but i can honestly say Josh Ramsay is one of the most amazing people i have ever met. He was nice and beautiful, he is so open and lets us feel everything he does. This whole band is amazing, and i can honestly say this is my fav. band and i have been following them since they started. I have seen EVERY single song live and they are just as amazing as on the cd which is rare nowadays. I have heard Josh sing good to you by himself amazing and sing sour candy with carley rae and all was amazing!! I love your honesty in your music and please keep it coming! i have paid from 7$ to see you to 80$ for travel costs and i will pay more to see you again. <3

The review might seem a little sugar coated at first, but it's true they're a refreshing sound in an era of pop-synth-punk-rock. Accapella is alive again!
And if anyone's not yet seen their music vids, they're a bunch of goofy guys, with excellent dramatic actions -- that sets them apart, thankfully refreshingly, from the gothic, dark, sombre pop-punk-rock bands.
They remind me a little of what the Moffats would sound like if they were polished and lyrically majestic, and that's what Marianas Trench really are, that they are polished and lyrically majestic. Did I mention that their musical arrangement is intricately amusing and tickles all your audio senses?
Wonderful band, that's just waiting to explode into the big stage.
Btw, Mariana Trench (no 's') is one of the deepest trench in our ocean. Go figure.
Marianas Trench is literally my favorite band, and they have been since the album Fix Me came out in 2006. I think their voices are amazing, and it's safe to say that they will always be my favorite band.
